Service to missing, exploited and sexually abused children has been Mr. Bivona’s lifelong driving passion. He established the Adam Walsh Center in 1982 which was merged into the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. He organized its first annual Adam Walsh Dinner Auction and ongoing bike rides each year that today raise over $1,300,000 annually for the Center. His fund raising efforts account for $30 million. He led efforts to establish the “Bivona Child Advocacy Center” in Rochester, New York, which streamlines the process for law enforcement and human service professionals to meet with and address the needs of child sexual abuse victims. The Advocacy Center dramatically increases the conviction rate for sex crimes against children and significantly reduces the burden on community resources. The Center has been able to increase convictions rates from 10% to 70% in the Rochester, NY area.
